Anonymous is a movement of Artists recovering together
‘Anonymous’ draws its inspiration from 12 step fellowships focusing on recovery from addiction and alcoholism. The concept was devised by Lucille Fernandes-Stangl as a solo exhibition of her work with funding awarded by the National Arts Council of South Africa. The show was executed at in November of 2022, post lockdown Gallery 3, Keyes Art Mile in Johannesburg, South Africa as an independent exhibition. Since that time, it has grown organically into a collective of artists make work about addiction, alcoholism and recovery. Some of the artists are in recovery, some are not, they remain anonymous.

Anonymous accepts sculpture, drawing, painting (watercolour, oil, acrylic, mixed media) and
digital art.
Artworks must be submitted to Anonymous who will, at their own discretion, accept or decline the
loading of that work on the site.
The artwork must be either made by an artist in recovery or about addiction or alcoholism. The artist does not have to publicly disclose their status if they do not want to.
The artist gets paid at the end of the calendar month that the work was sold.
Anonymous charges a commission of 35% with 65% going to the artist.
